Precisely Product Roadmap: 2025 in Review

Product roadmap highlights from a year focused on speed, clarity, and real-world impact

2025 has been a big year for Precisely.

In our recent webinar, Precisely Product Roadmap: 2025 in Review, Contract Automation Consultant Andrea and Product & Support Specialist Chloe walked through the most impactful improvements we’ve made across the platform, from signing and approvals to workflow templates, UX, and AI-powered capabilities.

Rather than introducing change for change’s sake, the session focused on a clear goal: removing friction from everyday contract work and helping teams move from drafting to signing faster, with better control and visibility along the way.

Below, we’ve summarized the key takeaways from the session.

Speeding up contract execution

One of the biggest sources of delay in contract processes isn’t drafting, it’s everything that happens after. Chasing signatures, managing approvals, and handling out-of-office situations can easily slow contracts down.

That’s why much of our 2025 roadmap focused on eliminating these bottlenecks.

Key improvements include:

  • Documents out for signing overview
A centralized view of all pending signatures, with one-click reminders to keep contracts moving.
  • Documents to sign for internal users
A dedicated view showing exactly which documents require your signature, plus in-platform notifications to avoid missed actions.
  • Automatic signing and approval reminders
Reduce manual follow-ups by letting the system handle reminders automatically.
  • Substitute approvers (out-of-office handling)
Approvals are automatically rerouted when someone is unavailable, preventing unnecessary delays.
  • Conditional and default signees
Signees are defined at the template level, removing guesswork at the drafting stage.

The impact is measurable. In 2025 alone, more than 47,000 contracts were sent for signing through Precisely, with a median turnaround time of less than one day from draft to signature.

Smarter, more flexible workflow templates

Workflow templates are where automation starts, and in 2025 they became both more powerful and easier to manage.

Highlights include:

  • Cross-referencing and automatic clause numbering
Keep documents accurate and easy to navigate as they evolve.
  • Template duplication
Create new workflows faster by copying existing templates instead of starting from scratch.
  • Document relationships
Clearly indicate when documents replace or are replaced by others, improving traceability and auditability.
  • Nested tables and locale-based formatting
Greater control over layout, number formats, and decimals to match organizational and regional requirements.
  • Formulas in approval logic
Define approvers more precisely using conditions and calculated values.

These improvements make templates easier to maintain and more adaptable to complex workflows. In 2025, over 2,300 workflow templates were created in the platform.

UX improvements driven by customer feedback

Small usability improvements can make a big difference in daily work. Throughout the year, customer feedback directly influenced how the platform evolved.

In total, more than 20 UX and accessibility improvements were released in 2025, with a strong focus on:

  • Clearer navigation and fewer clicks
  • Direct links between projects, documents, templates, and the archive
  • Improved visibility into signing order and document status
  • Helpful tooltips that explain why actions are unavailable and how to resolve issues

Every shortcut, link, and clarification is designed to reduce context switching and help users stay focused on their work.

AI that supports real contract work

AI was another major focus area in 2025, with a clear guiding principle: use AI where it delivers real value, without compromising control or compliance.

This year marked the launch of Precisely’s AI Assistant, which allows users to:

  • Summarize contracts instantly
  • Ask questions about document content
  • Identify risks or specific clauses
  • Understand unfamiliar external contracts faster

The assistant works directly inside Precisely and can also be used on imported documents. Importantly, customer data is not used to train AI models and remains protected within the platform.

To ensure safe and reliable use, AI Guardrails can be configured at the template level. These guardrails guide AI output according to internal policies, compliance requirements, and organizational context.

What’s coming next

Looking ahead, AI is just one part of the roadmap.

Upcoming and ongoing initiatives include:

  • Metadata validation and project registration
Using AI to detect mismatches and inconsistencies early, improving reporting accuracy and compliance.
  • Enhanced external contract intake
A smoother upload and archive experience, building on existing AI-based metadata suggestions.
  • Improved negotiation workflows
Reducing version control issues and making collaboration with external parties simpler and more reliable.

In 2025 alone, over 130,000 documents were uploaded to Precisely, making continued improvements in this area a key priority.
